Callum Wilson teases comeback

May 3, 2022

Newcastle United’s top goalscorer this season Callum Wilson, has been sidelined since January due to a calf injury sustained in the Magpies home fixture against Manchester United.

Due to the calf injury, plus the hamstring injury earlier in the campaign, the clubs number nine has missed out on a shocking 20 league fixtures this season.

His quality is not in-doubt as the former Bournemouth man has found the net on 18 occasions in 43 games for United, most of the games in which the club were very much struggling. His poaching ability and his attacking awareness allows him to always be in the right place, at the right time.

Both Callum Wilson and Kieran Trippier have teased their comebacks through social media, both sharing video footage via Instagram.

The question regarding whether Eddie Howe will risk playing the duo is a question yet to be answered but the fans deserve to see the pair play out one more time this season.

Could they both be back this weekend vs Manchester City?
